Privacy Policy

At the BYU Faculty Publishing Service (FPS), we are committed to protecting your information and taking reasonable steps to maintain its security, integrity, and privacy. By submitting your information to FPS, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you are less than 18 years of age, then you must first seek the consent of your parent or guardian prior to submitting any personal information.

Information Collection

FPS collects only the personal information necessary for project coordination, services, and invoicing, such as your name, affiliation, contact details, billing information, and project-specific files you provide through our normal submission form and intake paperwork.

The information you provide is used solely to manage your project, communicate about its status, and process payment. Billing information is handled exclusively by FPS management and the internal billing team through the BYU College of Humanities and is stored securely in accordance with university policy.

Confidentiality

We recognize that submitted manuscripts may be unpublished or in active revision prior to publication, and FPS treats all submitted manuscripts and materials as confidential. At times, we may use author-submitted materials to support BYU classroom instruction, editing research, and student portfolios. In all cases, your work will never be shared with any party outside of FPS without your express written permission. Please see our Copyright Policy for more information.

Data Accuracy and Retention

FPS takes reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information collected is accurate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes described above. Information is retained only as long as needed to fulfill those purposes or as required by university record-keeping policies.

Third-Party Disclosure

FPS does not sell, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to outside parties, except as required by law or as outlined in BYU’s Privacy Notice.
